POETRY

There is a sense of empowerment in writing and putting to page a flow of poetry that is shared with truth and no apology. The feeling of holding a book in my hands that can reach others who may be experiencing a journey similar to mine and help them has always been my greatest creative joy and sense of accomplishment. From a very young age, I wrote poetry to give me strength through childhood trauma and abuse. There is magic in poetry, a sense of putting words together like puzzle pieces to not only share the beauty of a poem but to tell a story.

I am also a spoken word artist. The joy and the rush I get from performing my spoken word live is indescribable. Being able to put life into my poems with inflections and line breaks that create a sense of connection to the audience is beyond what I imagine a reader experiences.

I am currently working on a one-woman show that uses poetry as a means of storytelling. The opening date is TBA.
